Marvel Studios’ Fantastic Four is a movie fans are eagerly waiting for. First announced at the 2019 Marvel Studios San Diego Comic-Con presentation, Kevin Feige announced that a Fantastic Four film, which will be set in the MCU, was then development.
Ever since the initial announcement, no further details for the movie were announced, other than the title graphic and Jon Watts exiting as director. Matt Shakman recently boarded the project as director, with Jeff Kaplan and Ian Springer currently working on the script. Plot details are still a well-kept secret.
Josh Friedman, who worked on Avatar: The Way of Water and developed Snowpiercer as a TNT television series, was recently tapped to write the script for the movie.
According to industry insider Daniel Richtman, Adam Driver is in final talks to play Reed Richards/Mister Fantastic in Fantastic Four. This isn’t the first report claiming this either. According to Jeff Sneider in late 2022, Adam Driver previously met with Marvel Studios for an unknown role in the film.
Earlier this year, The Direct also claimed that Adam Driver is Marvel Studios’ top casting choice to play the new Reed Richards. Director Matt Shakman has also confirmed that filming on the MCU’s Fantastic Four reboot will commence in early 2024, in an interview with The Wrap.
Marvel Studios’ Fantastic Four is set to release on February 14, 2025.
