Fallout fans have long been waiting for an update on the Amazon TV series adaptation since its reveal three years ago on Bethesda’s website.
Thankfully that wait will soon be over as Amazon confirmed today August 23 that the upcoming Fallout series is officially set for a 2024 release on Prime Video.
Additionally, attendees of this year’s Gamescom were treated to a special look at some first footage from the episodes of the streamer’s adaptation.
This news comes just a year after images from the live-action series’ set leaked onto social media platforms such as X, formerly known as Twitter.

Amazon & Bethesda’s First Fallout Series Footage Description
Amazon and Bethesda presented eager fans with the first footage reveal at this year’s Gamescom event during the Starfield theatre presentation.
The Starfield presentation was held at the Xbox booth which included appearances by Xbox legends Phil Spencer and Bethesda boss Todd Howard.
Gamescom’s Fallout series footage, according to reports online, showed a collection of shots from the series that felt familiar to fans of the game series.
During the footage, as per reports, people travelled through a hostile wasteland desert. It went on to also show women emerging from one of the iconic Fallout Vaults.
Characters were also shown to be wearing the iconic power armour suit, a quick glimpse at a Vertibird, and a ghoul character wearing a duster.
The footage, of course, ended with a short snippet of a nuclear explosion scene destroying what has now been confirmed to be Los Angeles.
When Does Prime Video’s Fallout Series Come Out?
Not long after the exclusive footage reveal at Gamescom, Prime Video took to social media to share that the Fallout series will premiere in 2024. However, no specific date was shared, so we’ll have to wait a bit longer for that one.
This is indeed the first time that any footage has been shown publicly, so it’s safe to assume that both Amazon and Bethesda are fairly happy with the series’ production.
