However, there has been no official comment from the show’s team on our report, so we’ll just have to wait and see. Rick Grimes making an appearance in the final season has recently become more possible though since his 2023 spinoff was announced.
The Walking Dead’s Universe is set for various spinoffs in the upcoming years, including a Norman Reedus-led Daryl series. Norman Reedus will be fighting zombies in France for his upcoming spinoff, which ties into ‘World Beyond’s post-credit scene. The World Beyond scene showed variant zombies with more strength and speed than the average walker, all due to an experiment gone wrong. These variants are now making their appearance in the final episodes of The Walking Dead’s final season.

The most recent news comes from a Twitter user known as ‘AndyLincolnNews‘ who reports that Lincoln has been spotted in France. Will Rick Grimes be appearing in the Daryl-Spinoff, could that be the main reason that Daryl is going to France in the first place? Will Daryl be looking for Rick, searching for answers on the new variants, or maybe he is forced to go to France involuntarily?
Norman Reedus did confirm that he and the crew were already scouting shooting areas in France, setting everything up for the show. So this could explain why Andrew Lincoln has been spotted there unless he is just genuinely there for other reasons. Will Rick Grimes Be In The Daryl Spinoff?
There has been no evidence, as of yet, that Lincoln’s Rick Grimes will be making an appearance in the Negan and Maggie spinoff. However, these new images of Lincoln in France do raise suspicion that he is involved in the Daryl show. Norman Reedus did tease that there’s “gonna be a lot of familiar faces” in the upcoming Daryl-led series. How many familiar faces from this universe do you know from France? He could very well be talking about Rick Grimes now that Melissa McBride’s Carol has exited the show.
Rick Grimes joining Daryl in France, fighting off variant walkers plus getting deeper into the lore would be awesome. However, what would this mean for the upcoming Rick Grimes and Michonne spinoff, could Michonne maybe be joining them too? These are questions that we can not answer yet sadly, only time or future announcements will tell.
