Sony producer Avi Arad has confirmed that a Hailee Steinfeld-led Spider-Woman movie will be coming “sooner than you expect.” The movie will be an animated spinoff to the Spider-Verse franchise with Spider-Man: Across The Spider-Verse being the most recent.
Fellow Sony producer Amy Pascal was on the scene at the Los Angeles premiere of Across The Spider-Verse and told Variety that the Spider-Woman movie is indeed in the works at Sony Pictures Entertainment. “You’ll see all of it,” said Pascal. “It’s all happening.”

Pascal also took time to confirm that a live-action Miles Morales-led Spider-Man movie is now in the works at Sony also. However, the Sony producer kept her lips sealed as to who is being eyed to star in the live-action version, if anyone yet that is.
Will Hailee Steinfeld Be Spider-Woman?
Yes. Hailee Steinfeld will be voicing the titular character as the spinoff movie will be based off of her Spider-Verse character, Spider-Woman.

Steinfeld’s Gwen Stacy goes by many nicknames such as Ghost-Spider or Spider-Gwen. However, Spider-Woman is the official name for her Spidey variant, something that the spinoff movie will highlight in its own title by the sounds of it.
“This is like my dream job, sign me up over and over again, I got to be comfortable! And it’s a dream to be in a space that feels so comfortable but also creative and free and just exciting to be a part of.”
