The Deleted Plotline
Child actor Lucas Grant’s mother went on Instagram to reveal that Grant was initially supposed to appear in Marvel Studios’ Ant-Man And The Wasp: Quantumania.
The 9-1-1: Lone Star actor’s mother revealed that Grant has the experience of working on Quantumania as Hope Van Dyne’s son. We don’t know whether Paul Rudd’s Scott Lang was the father of Hope’s children, but it seems uncertain that he was.
Mom Post: Last year Lucas had the supremely cool experience of working on his first movie…and a Marvel movie at that! He played Wasp/Hope’s son in Antman & The Wasp Quantumania, and had so much fun working with Evangeline (sweetest human on earth!). Peyton, the Director, is also incredibly nice and Lucas had an amazing time working with everyone on the film!
The mother went on to reveal that the screenplay was changed after Grant filmed his scenes, which was why they didn’t go into the Final cut of Quantumania.
Unfortunately, as it sometimes happens, the storyline was changed after he filmed and his scenes did not make it into the final version of the movie. Regardless, he is so grateful for the experience! He had the time of his life, and has memories to treasure forever of his first movie!
They also shared images of Grant on the set of Quantumania, with director Peyton Reed and actress Evangeline Lily. You can view them below:
The Wasp Had Children?
Judging by one of the images of Evangeline Lily’s Hope Van Dyne (with a different hairdo) holding a child in her arms, and Lucas Grant by her side, it seems that this was probably the ending of the movie. Since Scott was missing in the Quantum Realm and Hope was dusted, it would’ve been impossible for her to have children during the blip.
The scenes involving Hope’s children were probably cut because it would’ve been too much to cram in a two-hour movie. Several secondary characters from the Ant-Man franchise were already knocked out from the script of Quantumania, and the new additions will be left to be explored in the MCU’s future, hopefully Ant-Man 4.
Ant-Man And The Wasp: Quantumania is now playing in theatres. Read our official review of the movie here.
