NetherRealm Studios’ highly anticipated DLC character for their 2023 video game Mortal Kombat 1, Homelander from The Boys franchise, has just received a potentially disappointing update for the fans.
Actor Antony Starr, known for playing the live-action version of the famous but somewhat evil “superhero” known as Homelander in Prime Video’s The Boys, has offered an update as to whether he will be voicing the game’s version.

The actor has also starred as the character in the main show’s latest spinoff Gen V as well as the franchise’s animated spinoff The Boys Presents: Diabolical – which means he’s fine with just ‘voice acting’ the part.
Antony Starr On Mortal Kombat 1’s Homerlander
In a recent social media post to Instagram, Starr was asked by a commenter if he would be “voicing Homelander in Mortal Kombat 1, to which Starr simply responded with “Nope” — which caused quite the reaction.

Some fans took to the comment thread to respond to Starr’s update with thoughts of confusion, anger, disappointment, and even disbelief – with some even in belief that the actor is just “trolling” them all.
Starr’s social media post featured images of himself as Homelander, with him in full costume behind-the-scenes filming for his cameo in Prime Video’s Gen V – one image showing him alongside showrunner Eric Kripke (Supernatural).
Although we should take Starr’s word on the matter, technically there has been no official confirmation from NetherRealm that Homelander will not be voiced by what most fans of The Boys would call the only man for the job.

It could very well be similar to saying when Andrew Garfield had to keep it on the down low that he had returned as Spider-Man for No Way Home – something Starr’s fans believe as most can be seen in the comment section accusing him of lying about voicing the Mortal Kombat 1 DLC fighter.
Fans of both the character and the game will just have to wait a little bit longer to truly find out if Starr is voicing his live-action character, or if a completely new voice actor will be taking the reigns on this one.
