The sequel to the massively popular video game Ark: Survival Evolved, entitled Ark 2, was first announced three years ago back in 2020 and was originally slated for a 2022 release, before being pushed back a year to 2023, with no specific date announced quite yet.
Starring in the upcoming sequel game is Vin Diesel (Riddick, The Fast and the Furious) as Santiago, who briefly appeared during a DLC instalment of the first game, along with Auli’i Cravalho as his daughter Meeka, Cravalho is best known for voicing Disney’s Moana.
When To Expect Ark 2’s Release Date Announcement
Sadly, Studio Wildcard, the studio behind Ark 2, have yet to announce a solid release date, however, they did confirm that the sequel will be heading to Xbox Series X/S and Microsoft Windows this year, in 2023.
Speculation has risen online in recent weeks that the official release date may be announced sometime soon, as Xbox has been teasing Ark’s release since the beginning of 2023, with theories from Ark fans that the second instalment may already be fully finished with Studio Wildcard possibly just waiting for the perfect moment to announce the news.
Ark 2 Trailers, Footage, Gameplay
As of writing this article, Studio Wildcard has only released two trailers for Ark 2, one being a cinematic teaser featuring Vin Diesel and Auli’i Cravalho defending themselves against a small group of new antagonists, along with the first look at Ark 2’s dinosaurs, all revealing a much more primal look for the sequel – similar to the early days of the first game.
The second trailer is more of a teaser, also featuring Diesel and Cravalho, with showcased cinematic footage of several Ark 2 creatures, such as a Dodo, raptors, and a Tyrannosaurus rex tame being ridden by both Diesel and Cravalho’s characters – this teaser was the latest release date update from the studio, confirming the 2023 release.
No new trailers or gameplay footage has been revealed as of yet, however, we will be sure to update this article once anything new is released from Studio Wildcard.
When To Expect Ark 2 To Be Released
Since we are now in March of 2023, it should be safe to assume that the studio will be aiming for a mid to late-2023 release, with some fans even speculating the game to be released by this June, or sometime this summer, however, nothing has been announced officially – stay tuned for news and updates either here or below!
