NetherRealm’s famous powerful Tarkatan warrior known as Baraka has been confirmed to be a part of the live-action roster for New Line‘s Mortal Kombat 2 movie.

CJ. Bloomfield (Furiosa) has officially been cast as the live-action Baraka for the sequel to the 2021 Mortal Kombat movie alongside Karl Urban’s Johnny Cage, among others.

In the first look image (above) of Bloomfield behind-the-scenes getting prepped to go from human to full Tarkatan, a tease of his upcoming transformation is shown.

Returning cast members include Hiroyuki Sanada (John Wick: Chapter 4) as Hanzo Hasashi aka Scorpion, Jessica McNamee as Sonya Blade, and Damon Herriman who will now play Quan Chi.
Also returning is Lewis Tan as the original character Cole Young, Chin Han as Shang Tsung, Ludi Lin as Liu Kang, Max Huang as Kung Lao, Tadanobu Asano as Lord Raiden, and Mehcad Brooks as Jax (Briggs).
Joe Taslim will also be reprising his role as Bi-Han, however, instead of the iconic Sub-Zero he will now be portraying Noob Saibot just as in the game.

New roster additions include the big bad Shao Kahn who will be played by Martyn Ford, Karl Urban as Johnny Cage, Tati Gabrielle as Jade, Adeline Rudolph as Kitana, Ana Thu Nguyen as Sindel, and CJ. Bloomfield as Baraka.
Mortal Kombat 2 does not yet have a confirmed release date.
