Even though the first Beetlejuice movie came out in 1988, it is still considered one of the greats. It still has, to this day, a very clear presence in pop culture with new fans attaching to it constantly. Some fans have even been waiting for over three decades to finally see a sequel to the wacky classic.
Tim Burton has kept quite secretive when discussing plans for the anticipated sequel, offering little information here and there. He has been busy promoting his latest accomplishment, the Addams family spin-off series ‘Wednesday’, which is now streaming on Netflix.
Although there have been some reports in regard to the film’s development, Burton hasn’t really given anything away. Well, now a new report comes in from well-known scooper ‘Daniel RPK’ with some of the latest gossips.
Reported Beetlejuice 2 Casting Details
The latest report provides some casting details on Winona Ryder’s character Lydia, plus some new casting details for Beetlejuice’s Wife!
According to the report from ‘Daniel RPK’, Winona Ryder’s character Lydia will have children this time round. However, no other details on her character’s children have been released, just that she may possibly have more than one. Beetlejuice’s Wife, named Dolores, is also currently being cast for the sequel according to the same report.
Sadly, no details as to who they would like to play the Wife of Beetlejuice in this report were included. So, expect plenty of speculation on the internet for the time being.
Tim Burton’s Update
A cryptic update from the director was offered while speaking to Deadline.com when asked about the sequel. Stating that “nothing is out of the question.” when asked if he would be involved with the next iteration of the franchise.
He also added that he only knows if he is “making a film when” he is “actually on the set shooting.“, which is as cryptic as ever. Meanwhile, the movie will currently be overseen by Brad Pitt’s production company ‘Plan B’, as revealed earlier this year.
