Ben Kingsley has been spotted on the set of Marvel Studios’ upcoming Disney+ series Wonder Man, which will be set in the main Marvel Cinematic Universe and is currently in production.
Kingsley will be reprising his MCU role of Trevor Slattery, who first appeared in Iron Man 3, where he portrayed a false version of Marvel’s Mandarin, later played by Tony Leung Chiu-wai in Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, which also starred Kingsley as Trevor Slattery.
MCU fans also got to see Slattery in a dedicated one-shot for the character entitled All Hail The King, which can now be streamed exclusively on Disney Plus as well as being attached to the home media release of Thor: The Dark World, but where is Ben Kingsley’s Trevor Slattery appearing next?
Ben Kingsley Spotted Filming New MCU Series
Kingsley’s next major outing in the MCU will be for the MCU series entitled Wonder Man, which will see Yahya Abdul-Mateen II take on the role of Simon Williams, aka Wonder Man, an actor who is thrown into the world of super-powered heroes due to mysterious circumstances.
See below for the new Wonder Man set images featuring Ben Kingsley’s Trevor Slattery.
Trevor seems to be enjoying his life post-Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, as he was imprisoned by the Mandarin for wrongly impersonating him during the events of Iron Man 3.
It’s safe to assume that Trevor has returned to the realm of Hollywood, aka Los Angeles, which is where the project is currently being filmed and most likely set as the plot is focused on the main character being an actor, similar to Kingsley’s Slattery.
Trevor has experience in both being an actor in Hollywood and dealing with Avengers drama and superpowered heroes plus villains, which leads to expect that he will play some role in helping Simon Williams cope with his new found abilities.
Wonder Man is expected to release sometime in 2024 or 2025, with speculation that 2025 is most likely, and will be exclusive to Disney’s streaming service Disney Plus.
