Blumhouse’s live-action Five Nights at Freddy’s movie is set to hit theatres on October 27, 2023, however, new information reportedly confirms that a sequel, Five Nights at Freddy’s 2, will begin production in January 2024, with the release expected to be in late 2024 or early 2025.
This new information comes from a well-known Twitter account that provides frequent updates on Blumhouse’s 2023 movie adaptation of the popular video game series Five Nights at Freddy’s, an account that goes by the name of FNAF Movie Updates (@FNAFMovieUpdate), who took to Twitter to reportedly confirm recent reports that a sequel is in the works with plans to begin production in less than a year.

Five Nights at Freddy’s 2 Movie Confirmed?
According to a conversation, that was released by the Twitter account @cupcake_ruim and reportedly confirmed by @FNAFMovieUpdate, with an unnamed crew member who is set to work on the title, production is set to begin in January of 2024, meaning that Blumhouse might just be aiming for a similar production to release timeframe as the first instalment, potentially aiming for a late 2024 release.
Production began in early 2023 on Blumhouse’s first Five Nights at Freddy’s and ended in April just last month, however, the theatrical release is set for October of the same year, giving a window of about six months for post-production work, so if using the same timeline logic, Five Nights at Freddy’s 2 may just be aiming for an October 2024 release, or sometime around that part of the year.
Blumhouse and/or the cast and crew of Five Nights at Freddy’s has yet to officially announce that a sequel is already in the works, however, it should be safe to assume that Five Nights at Freddy’s 2 was in the overall plan simply due to the mass fan following that the franchise has obtained over the years.
