Blumhouse‘s latest trailer for their live-action Five Nights at Freddy’s movie slyly revealed that the original game character Balloon Boy from Five Nights at Freddy’s 2 will have some sort of presence during the 2023 adaptation.
Fans of the game series will already be well acquainted with Balloon Boy aka BB as being a smaller toy animatronic that first appeared in FNAF 2.
His appearance is hard to miss as he sports red and blue striped attire along with a propeller hat while also holding a vibrant striped balloon.
Balloon Boy Spotted In Blumhouses FNAF Movie
During the latest trailer for the upcoming live-action adaptation, Piper Rubio’s Abby can be seen for a brief moment looking at a wall of drawings.
Amongst these drawings, which were clearly made by children, includes a sketch of none other than Balloon Boy and his iconic style.
In the cleverly placed Balloon Boy easter egg as shown above, the words “ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha” can be read on the children’s drawing.
This is a direct nod to the original game as Balloon Boy was only really known for laughing along with saying “hi” or “hello” now and again.
Will Balloon Boy Be In Blumhouse’s FNAF Movie?
Interestingly enough, Balloon Boy only becomes active on night 2 in the original Five Nights at Freddy’s game series.
He is also the only animatronic that doesn’t actually want to kill the protagonist night guard now played by Josh Hutcherson.
Instead, he prefers to pinch the night guard’s flashlight batteries which leaves him extremely vulnerable to the more sinister animatronics.
Now that his presence has been confirmed, it’s more than safe to expect a cameo from the annoying balloon-holding thief during the movie. It’s also safe to assume that he will most likely appear during the second night.
Unlike the other antagonists, BB actually uses vents to get around which makes it almost impossible to sense when he is coming. Maybe Abby will find him while trying to hide inside a vent shaft?
