Blumhouse’s live-action Five Nights at Freddy’s feature movie adaptation was rumoured a few weeks ago to be around three hours in runtime.
However, there has been no official source to validate these claims… until now that is as Rotten Tomatoes’ official page for the FNAF movie has finally revealed exactly how long the movie will be.
See below to find out exactly how long the 2023 FNAF movie will be in runtime.
How Long Is Blumhouse’s FNAF Movie?
Thanks to the updated Rotten Tomatoes main page for the upcoming horror flick, it has finally been revealed that the official runtime for Five Nights at Freddy’s will be 3 hours, 0 minutes.
This already marks the Blumhouse horror game-to-movie adaptation one of the longest full-feature flicks, beating titles such as M3GAN, Insidious, and Get Out, among many other titles.

Anticipating fans’ response to the now confirmed rumoured runtime was generally positive, with most reactions praising the longer-than-usual Blumhouse movie length. Pre-praising the movie’s 3-hour runtime for, assumptively, being that long to allow enough screentime to give the vast FNAF lore the well-deserved treatment it needs.
Note that this runtime may be subject to change.
Why Is Blumhouse’s FNAF Movie So Long?
It makes sense, and FNAF fans know why…
Scott Cawthon’s iconic Five Nights at Freddy’s game series has evolved into something much, much larger than a story about a night guard being tormented by possessed animatronics.
Its lore alone has grown to a Tolkien-level scale since its release almost ten years ago, from its deep character lore to impressive world-building, it makes perfect sense as to why Blumhouse would need as many hours as possible to kick off its movie franchise properly.

Judging by the fact that the movie is supposed to adapt not only the first Five Nights at Freddy’s game but also the second and third game instalments, it’s potentially fair to assume that each movie of the hour could be dedicated to each game.
Blumhouse’s live-action Five Nights at Freddy’s releases in both theatres and on Peacock on October 27, 2023.
