Boba Fett is officially returning to the Mando-Verse in Season 3 of Disney Plus’ upcoming Star Wars series The Mandalorian, however, whether or not we see Temuera Morrison on the screen still remains a mystery. Morrison first appeared in the Star Wars universe as Jango Fett, father to Boba Fett, in the 2002 instalment Star Wars: Episode II – Attack of the Clones, going on to play both Jango and now Boba in various adaptations. You can also see Morrison as a Veteran Clone Trooper in the 2022 Star Wars series Obi-Wan Kenobi, which saw the return of Ewan McGregor to reprise the titular role of Kenobi.
The Boba Fett confirmation comes from the official Star Wars Hong Kong Facebook page via a marketing post for Season 3 of The Mandalorian, with the caption of the post seemingly revealing the news before anyone else.
Star Wars Hong Kong’s Post + Translation
When translating the post’s caption using the Facebook translator tool, the translation roughly reads into English the following:
“The original team is back in a big way – Mandalorian #DinDjarin and Baby Yoda #Grogu are about to unveil a new adventure! Add the amazing bounty hunter #BobaFett with other old allies and new enemies! ‘This is the way!’”.
Will Boba Fett Really Appear In Season 3?
Despite the majority of the post’s caption being written in Chinese, Boba Fett’s name is written in English, and this comes from an official Star Wars marketing team. It is possible that this could be a mistake on the marketing team’s behalf, or maybe even an accidental spoiler, it could even be an official announcement made in the slyest way possible.
Temuera Morrison’s IMDB page doesn’t have The Mandalorian Season 3 listed as a project Morrison is involved with, however, that would make sense as Disney would be trying to keep it a surprise for as long as possible, which seems odd with the quiet reveal from the Star Wars Hong Kong marketing team.
Seeing that there the third season premieres in a matter of days, it’s highly possible that fans will just have to wait and see for themselves once the episodes premier on Disney’s streaming platform, Disney Plus. Speculation on who could be making a cameo during the third instalment of The Mandalorian has been at an all-time high these past few months, with theories that far more faces will show up other than Morrison’s Boba Fett.
The Mandalorian Season 3 is available to stream on March 1st, exclusively on Disney Plus.
