Chris Pratt is currently undergoing press for his upcoming animated feature The Super Mario Bros. Movie, based on the popular Nintendo games and brought to life by the iconic Illumination studio, best known for the Despicable Me and Minions franchise.
While talking with Collider, Pratt was asked to share his thoughts on what he would like to see adapted next in a potential future Jurassic World project, while also seemingly confirming nothing is currently in the works.
Chris Pratt Wants More Water Dinos In Jurassic World
When asked “If they were to make another [Jurassic World] movie or a show, whether you’re involved or not, is there any particular corner of that world that you would like to see either further explored or explored for the first time?“, to which Pratt responded with:
“Wow, that’s such a great question, I would say just with given the advent of what we can now do underwater, I’m curious to see more about the Mosasaur, I thought that dinosaur was (…) a wonderful creature, but I’d be curious a little bit more about the life of that fabulous creature, maybe some more underwater dinosaurs.”
The Mosasaurus was an underwater dinosaur which had at least one major cameo in each Jurassic World instalment, however, never fully utilized as the majority of each plot was mainly set on land, therefore there being far more land dinosaurs being featured.
Pratt raises the curiosity as to now that underwater filming technology has become more advanced in recent years, maybe that could call for a future Jurassic Park/ Jurassic World spin-off centred around the underwater aspect of the franchise.
As of writing this article, there are no plans or official details on any future Jurassic World projects, whether it be a movie or a TV series, with Pratt not confirming whether or not he would want to be involved in any future projects for the dino saga.
