This article contains some minor spoilers for Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania.
Corey Stoll who played the villain Yellowjacket in Marvel Studios’ first Ant-Man movie back in 2015 has returned to the Marvel Cinematic Universe as MODOK in Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania. However, the MCU version of MODOK differs from the comic origin, as Stoll’s Yellowjacket, aka Darren Cross, is revealed during the movie to be the same person inside the mechanical MODOK suit.
There have been mixed reactions to Stoll’s adaptation of MODOK in Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania so far, with some fans loving it, some on the fence, and some who simply disapproved of the whole thing. It has been made clear by the teams over at Marvel Studios that it has never been clear where MODOK could fit within the ever-expanding Marvel Cinematic Universe, with Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania seeming like the best fit for the character.
Some fans are saddened that the original origin of MODOK hasn’t been utilized in the MCU, however, MODOK does still have an origin story in the MCU, it is just a new one compared to the comics. Despite the millions of MCU fans who now know Corey Stoll is MODOK, there is one person in Stoll’s life who can’t quite seem to believe it.

Corey Stoll’s Son Doesn’t Believe Him

In a recent interview on Good Morning America, Stoll was asked “you have a 7-year-old son, do you have any, like, real “Dad-cred” now that you’re in a movie like this?”, to which Stoll responded with:
“Zero. He [Stoll’s Son] has no interest at all, he doesn’t believe me, but he’s not really into violence so he doesn’t want to watch it, I’ll say ‘I’m really in the movie’, he doesn’t believe me.“
Another question was raised as to if Stoll’s Son would even be able to recognise his father on screen as the enlarged-head villain MODOK, which Stoll agreed with saying that his son will maybe believe him “someday”.
