Creed 4 is officially in the works and its titular star Michael B. Jordan is returning to direct, says franchise producer Irwin Winkler (via Deadline).
Jordan helmed the latest instalment, Creed 3, as well as starring as the titular boxer Adonis Creed – the son of Carl Weathers’ original Rocky franchise character Apollo Creed.

Winkler announced the news on Saturday at Deadline’s Contenders Film: Los Angeles event the Creed 3 sequel is in development.

Winkler confirmed that there was a plan for the fourth instalment pre-strikes, as he told everyone onstage that Creed 4 “got a little delayed because of the [SAG-AFTRA and WGA] strikes, but about a year from now we’re going into production.”
This means that this time next year, Jordan and the rest of the Creed team will be hitting the cameras to begin rolling in scenes for the next part of the Rocky sequel franchise.
The producer said that Jordan “did such a great job [directing Creed 3],” and that “he was comfortable with the camera,” hence why the studio wants the star to continue directing.
Creed 4 does not yet have a release date.
