Marvel Studios’ Daredevil: Born Again and Warner Bros. Pictures’ spinoff series The Penguin are both going to be pausing production indefinitely until the 2023 WGA writers’ strike ends.
The MCU and DC streaming shows are both currently scheduled for a 2024 release. Daredevil: Born Again is set to exclusively premiere on Disney+ next year.
The Penguin is also set to exclusively premiere but on MAX next year.

The two productions have been a big target for the strike’s picketers mostly due to the scale of the two projects. Daredevil: Born Again has had to stop production a couple of times amid the WGA strike. Now pausing indefinitely alongside The Penguin.
Will Daredevil: Born Again Be Delayed?
It’s safe to assume that there will be a delay in the release of the highly anticipated Charlie Cox-led Daredevil series. The whopping 18-episode reboot series will mark the highest episode count seen yet in a Disney+ MCU streaming show.
A specific release date for the series had yet to be announced. The reboot was expected to premiere on Disney+ sometime in early 2024. However, it’s unclear as to when the series will drop now as it now depends on the WGA Writers’ strike being resolved.
Vincent D’Onofrio was also filming for the reboot series as Wilson Fisk aka Marvel’s Kingpin, with fellow stars such as the return of Jon Bernthal who is set to reprise the role of Frank Castle aka the Punisher.
Will The Penguin Series Be Delayed?
Just as mentioned with Born Again, it’s safe to also assume that due to production pausing on The Penguin, a later release date will now be set.
However, the spinoff to the Robert Pattinson-led The Batman movie directed by Matt Reeves has yet to receive an official release date in the first place.
