Spoilers for the 2023 Ezra Miller-led The Flash DC movie inside.
Teddy Sears has officially responded to theories that his character from The CW‘s The Flash can be seen in the 2023 Ezra Miller-led The Flash movie.
Theories began during a scene in the movie that includes a variant of the Flash that seemingly looks identical to Sears’ version from The CW’s adaptation.

Sears, however, has debunked this by confirming that he definitely didn’t film anything for the 2023 high-budget The Flash movie.
“People kept telling me that I was in the new Flash movie, I mean, I’m sleep-deprived with a newborn at home, so my memory is a little foggy. But I’m pretty sure I would have remembered shooting a major DC Studios film.”
TVLine also confirmed that multiple sources clarified that the Sears cameo in The Flash is nothing more than a good old-fashioned case of mistaken identity.
Despite the moment having what seems to be an almost replica of Sears himself. It has been confirmed that the scene was not used with archival footage from his time on The CW’s long-running TV series adaptation of The Flash.

The mistaken Flash character was nothing more than just a generic CG “Golden Age Flash representation played no actor of note”.
If Sears’ Flash was to be included, it would have been a confusing cameo, to say the least. Sears’ character isn’t even a real Flash as it is revealed he is just an imposter. He actually plays Hunter Zolomon and later turns into the evil Zoom.
This fact initially sent some DC fans into a frenzy as they believed that Sears was included while The CW’s Grant Gustin was not. Gustin starred as the titular Barry Allen aka the Flash in the main TV series that has now ended.
The Flash is now playing in theatres worldwide.
