Artists online have been busy recently designing concepts for Marvel’s Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. Although, one piece of fan art has imagined up a live-action concept of the MCU’s upcoming Illuminati. Discussions on Doctor Strange 2 have been going on for months now in the Marvel fan community. Topics, mainly regarding Marvel’s Illuminati possibly being introduced to the MCU, have been rumored for some time now.
However, these rumors were proven true when multiple Illuminati rumours were confirmed in the official trailer. Instagram artist, Agt Design, has imagined the live-action Illuminati members in a concept poster for Doctor Strange 2. Including actors and characters that have been rumored to appear in the movie itself, plus Patrick Stewart’s Professor X who has been confirmed to appear.
Doctor Strange 2 ‘Fan’ Illuminati Poster
Patrick Stewart’s voice as Professor X was unmistakenly heard in the official trailer for Doctor Strange 2. Although, he won’t be appearing alone as the Illuminati will undoubtedly be joining alongside him.
Rumors of multiple characters from Fox’s X-Men universe, variants of popular MCU characters, and more have circulated the web this past year. Including Patrick Stewart, who had actually been rumoured to appear months before the trailer even released!
Who Will Be In MCU’s Live-Action Illuminati?
Rumours have suggested many characters will appear in Doctor Strange 2’s Illuminati. Although, from what we have seen, we have a pretty good idea of who to expect (so far). Firstly, let’s look at who was originally in Marvel’s Illuminati by listing everybody below.

- Black Bolt | King of the Inhumans

As you can see, the six original members of the Illuminati were some of the most powerful characters on Marvel’s Earth. Nonetheless, we have had confirmation regarding multiple of the original members making somewhat of an appearance.
Charles Xavier/ Professor X in Doctor Strange 2
Patrick Stewart’s Professor X was spotted and heard during the official trailer, plus Patrick has now confirmed it himself. You see an ominous court-type room, that seems to be the headquarters of the Illuminati. Doctor Strange is seen being, what we can only assume, judged by Professor X regarding what he has done with the multiverse.
Sorcerer Supreme, Doctor Strange
The official trailer gave us a look at a Doctor Strange variant, in form of a statue. Although, this statue isn’t exactly for him as it resembles a variant of our Doctor Strange. The statue is actually based on a variant Doctor Strange. This was recently spoiled via Funko releasing a look at the variant’s Pop figure.
According to multiple sources, the statue is in honor of Strange sacrificing himself to save the planet. However, the Funko Pop toy raises speculation that we will see him in the non-statue form at some point during the movie.
Captain Marvel Variant Instead Of Iron Man?
The Doctor Strange 2 trailer led many fans to believe that they spotted Iron Man. Although, further investigation into the short amount of footage suggests it is actually Captain Marvel. However, a variant of Captain Marvel, not the Brie Larson version. No, a variant from another universe played by none other than Maria Rambeau
However, rumors have circulated that an Iron Man variant will appear, played portrayed by Tom Cruise. This makes sense as the Iron Legion can be seen escorting Doctor Strange. Nevertheless, it seems that both variants of Captain Marvel and Iron Man could be playing a big part in the story.
Where Are The Remaining Members?
No concrete evidence has suggested that original members Namor, Reed Richards, or Black Bolt will be in this movie. Nevertheless, the amount of chairs alone seen during the Illuminati footage suggests more members are yet to be revealed.
The rule of thumb with the MCU is that if they are willing to reveal something like Professor X in a trailer! Once the film releases, I am sure we will be treated to many surprises that will blow us all away.
