Dwayne Johnson Confirms DC Departure, For Now

Black Adam is out for the meantime, but might return in the future.

James Gunn and Peter Safran are hard at work planning the next era of the live-action DC universe, already making announcements that the legacy Justice League actors will not be a part of the process. Despite the fact that Henry Cavill made his return as Superman in the ‘Black Adam’ post-credit scene, plans of an apparent reboot are in full throttle over at Warner Bros. Pictures.

Now the latest announcement, following the confirmation of Henry Cavill’s departure as Superman, comes from Dwayne Johnson letting fans know not to expect to see Black Adam anytime soon. Issuing out a full statement that isn’t too dissimilar to Henry Cavill’s post, which explains in full the hows and whys of his exit from the DC universe.

He [Dwayne Johnson] shows his appreciation for the success of the ‘Black Adam’ movie in his statement, reiterating the fact that he spent “15 years” working towards it.
