Xbox boss Phil Spencer has provided an update on the hugely anticipated sequel to Bethesda’s Skyrim currently entitled The Elder Scrolls VI.
Elder Scrolls 6 just like any other wide-world RPG from Bethesda is most likely set to be bigger and much more advanced than its predecessors.
Despite the new Elder Scrolls instalment being announced in 2018. Its release is still over “five-plus years away” according to Spencer.

“It’s so far out it’s hard to underatand what the platforms will even be (…) We’re talking about a game that’s five-plus years away”.

Stephen Totilo shared the news directly to Twitter from the second day of the US antitrust agency the Federal Trade Commission (FTC)/Microsoft court case where Spencer spoke out “a lot” about Microsoft’s plans.
Which Console Will Elder Scrolls 6 Be On?
As per Spencer’s comments, it sounds like The Elder Scrolls VI may be heading to the next generation of Xbox which is expected to be 2028.
The game itself will now be exclusive to Xbox due to Microsoft spending $7.5 billion to acquire Bethesda’s parent company ZeniMax Media.
This move came as no major surprise as some of the world’s most successful game franchises of all time have come out of ZeniMax Media.

As to what the next Xbox will be called has not yet been revealed, it could very well be another iteration of the current Xbox Series X|S.
Official Elder Scrolls 6 Trailer Release Date
Sadly there has been no announcement or news as to when to expect the next full official trailer for Bethesda’s The Elder Scrolls VI.
So far only a brief tease of its beautiful landscape has been shown along with the simple title reveal that fades onto the screen.

However, the full title has also not been revealed and will most likely be kept under wraps for the next few years during development.
Where Is Elder Scrolls 6 Set?
The location for The Elder Scrolls VI probably won’t be officially revealed until the title itself has been shared publicly.
Bethesda is known for choosing either the main location or a related location and attaching it directly to its game’s title.
Such as past title names Skyrim and Morrowind, which may rule out these past Tamriel locations for the next instalment of the series.

So far the series has taken its players to High Rock, Hammerfell, Morrowind, Cyrodil, and Skyrim. Which relatively narrows down where to expect to be taken to next by the Bethesda team.
It’s safe to assume that Elder Scrolls 6 will explore Tamriel locations such as the Black Marsh, Valenwood, and Elsweyr or somewhere nearby.
These locations are all located in the further Southern areas of Tamriel whereas previous games have typically been set in the Northern regions.
See below for the map of Tamriel, the continent in which The Elder Scrolls game series has been set in since 1994.
If Bethesda does plan on revisiting some past locations, it has been said that Hammerfell is the most hoped-for as a next-gen TES game could really give that revamped and modern look to that part of the continent.
Keep in mind that Bethesda may be planning on allowing players to visit multiple countries whenever they please which would make The Elder Scrolls VI the largest map[s] ever seen in its entire series.
The Elder Scrolls VI doesn’t have a scheduled release date yet.
