Elizabeth Olsen teased at a recent convention that the next storyline for the Scarlet Witch in the Marvel Cinematic Universe may already be set in stone, telling the audience at the convention that it could potentially be a spoiler if she tells fans which Scarlet Witch storyline from the comics she would like to see adapted the most. Olsen has portrayed the MCU character Wanda Maximoff, also known as the Scarlet Witch, since the 2015 Marvel Studios movie Avengers: Age of Ultron, appearing in various MCU projects since including her very own standalone series WandaVision.
In a recently shared video from an Elizabeth Olsen fan account on Twitter, a clip shows Olsen speaking at the convention Comfest Con in Zahra, Kuwait. In the video, Olsen is asked “what future storyline for Wanda do you want?”, to which Olsen responds with “Well, honestly, if I were to tell you exactly what I would want, I think I would maybe be spoiling something because Kevin, Kevin Feige, genuinely asks us [MCU ACTORS] what we want to do with the character and then he [FEIGE] does it. So, I think what I- I don’t know if I can share but I just wanna come back.”.
Elizabeth Olsen Wants MCU Return
The response from Elizabeth Olsen at the Comfest Convention confirms that Olsen is still interested in playing Wanda Maximoff, aka the Scarlet Witch, for the Marvel Cinematic Universe, which fans were ecstatic to hear. It seems that Olsen may also know where the character could be heading next, storyline-wise, deeming it a potential spoiler to discuss anything about the character’s MCU future while plans are made.
However, the fact that Olsen doesn’t want to discuss which storylines from the comics she would like to see be adapted into the live-action MCU clearly means that the future of the character is still very much in the early stages of development. It was nice to hear that Kevin Feige allows the actors to suggest certain storylines, and even nicer to hear that Feige also runs with the suggested storylines now and then.
