Evangeline Lilly has revealed that she had no idea who Harry Styles was when watching his MCU debut in Marvel Studios’ Eternals movie back in 2021. Styles played the Marvel Comics character Starfox and was unveiled to be a part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe during the ending credits of the movie, Starfox is also the brother of Thanos, the mad titan who wiped out half the universe during Avengers: Infinity War.
Despite Styles being an ex-member of one of the world’s most successful boy bands, One Direction, which was formed over a decade ago, Lilly reveals that she had never seen his face prior to watching Marvel Studios’ Eternals movie. Styles has also had various acting roles, in projects such as even Christopher Nolan’s Dunkirk, where Styles played one of the British soldiers stranded on the shores which saw Styles taking up quite a large role in the movie.
Evangeline Lilly Reveals Everything
During a recent interview with Simon Harkness for IGV Presents, Evangeline Lilly who plays the Wasp in Marvel Studios’ latest instalment Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania was asked “which of your Marvel co-stars is most likely to win sexiest man of the year: Harry Styles, Jonathan Majors, or Paul Rudd again?”. However, Lilly goes on to tell the interviewer about her reaction to seeing Styles as Starfox on screen for the first time instead.
Lilly reveals “Oh, I have to say that at the end of Eternals, when that guy [Harry Styles] walked into the ship at the end credits”, to which fellow Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania co-star, Kathryn Newton, interjects with “HARRY”, with Lilly adding “well, for me it was ‘that guy’, and I was like ‘who is that kid? cus he’s gonna be really successful, he’s got some serious mojo”.
Lilly’s big reveal leaves both Kathryn Newton and interviewer Simon Harkness in shock, with a side of the giggles, with Harkness asking Lilly “did you not know Harry Styles?”, to which Lilly responds “SWEAR TO GOD, I was like, ‘he’s going to be a big star’, that’s what I thought to myself!”. Newton double-checks, just for clarity, that Lilly is definitely saying she had no idea who Styles was prior to Eternals by asking “you didn’t know who that was?”, to which Lilly reiterates “I had no idea, I had never seen Harry Styles’ face before”.
