Exclusive: CoveredGeekly has learned that Samuel L. Jackson will be filming in Bathgate, Scotland next Thursday, March 30, 2023, for a top-secret project speculated to be for Marvel Studios’ The Marvels or possibly for Secret Invasion.
According to our sources, the cast and crew, including Samuel L. Jackson, are all set to return to the Bathgate location of Mid Street during the later hours of Thursday, March 30. It is expected that Jackson and the production crew will be filming some sort of car scene, or scenes, due to a car being used on March 23 while the area was being used this week.
Jackson was recently spotted in Bathgate working on the secret project on March 23, 2023, along with production crew members who were spotted painting doors and windowsills of a property that will seemingly be used next week for filming, with Jackson wearing clothing almost identical to the attire he can be seen wearing in the Secret Invasion trailer.
However, it has been speculated that Jackson could be filming scenes for Marvel Studios’ now-delayed 2023 movie The Marvels, starring Brie Larson as Captain Marvel, Iman Vellani as Ms. Marvel, and Teyonah Parris as Monica Rambeau with Jackson returning once again as the MCU’s Avengers-starter and eye-patch wearing Nick Fury.
Despite Jackson wearing similar clothing to that of Nick Fury from Secret Invasion, his iconic eye patch and scarring, plus his facial hair, were nowhere to be seen. If this project is indeed for an MCU movie or series, it would still make sense that Jackson was without his Nick Fury prosthetics due to the last outing in Bathgate, Scotland, being more of a rehearsal of sorts, with most of the crew just scouting the area and preparing some set pieces for next week.
CoveredGeekly got to speak to a couple of the local residents who were lucky enough to watch Jackson at work on his new project, one of which being Deborah Gemmell who posted a video to Facebook driving past Jackson that has now reached an impressive 100,000 views already since posting on March 23. (Watch below)
Gemmell told CoveredGeekly “I was driving and it was my son who shouted Nick fury”, which can be heard in the video with Jackson responding with “that is the third time you’ve been by here” as Gemmell and her son were eagerly scouting the area to catch a glimpse of the Hollywood legend and Marvel Cinematic Universe star.
When talking about what could be seen when Jackson and the production team were working, CoveredGeekly was told by Gemmell “We seen a car that was being filmed and also people’s doors being painted in the street”, which we were lucky enough to acquire an image of, revealing the production crew giving a local Bathgate property’s door and windows a new lick of paint ahead of next week’s filming.
Official details as to which project Jackson is preparing to film scenes for next week have yet to be announced, however, it should become more clear by March 30 as to whether Jackson is filming as Nick Fury or not once we get our next good look at him on set, stay tuned for more coverage on this story in the upcoming week.
