Yes, it’s happening. Hugh Jackman is finally playing Wolverine wearing a comic-accurate yellow suit for Marvel Studios’ 2024 Deadpool 3 movie.
The yellow suit was first teased in live-action during a deleted scene from James Mangold’s The Wolverine, starring Jackman as the titular mutant.
However, despite The Wolverine having a sequel, Jackman was never seen wearing the suit in any of his past Marvel movies.

That is until now as Ryan Reynolds who stars as the titular Deadpool and Jackman took to Instagram today to share a first look at the live-action Yellow-suited Wolverine.

See the first look below shared by the two Deadpool 3 stars, the sequel to Deadpool 3 that has been speculated in the past to be titled Wolverine & Deadpool.
Speculation and rumours have also been shared in the past that Jackman would indeed be wearing the yellow suit, which despite them being true or false, has become a reality.
It’s safe to say that whatever the cast and crew have planned for Deadpool 3 is going to change the MCU in ways never before seen in past titles.
Who Else Will Be In Deadpool 3?
Jackman first took to the screen as Logan aka Wolverine in X-Men (2000) alongside Patrick Stewart’s Professor X and Ian McKellen’s Magneto.
Stewart interestingly returned as Professor X for Marvel Studios’ Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness as a variant to his past Fox-Marvel character.

Since then Stewart has gone on record to confirm that both he and McKellen have “plans” in regard to their X-Men characters’ future.
“Actually, it went very well. He did say something like [‘Hey, I would’ve done this!’], yes that’s true (…) but we’re not done, Sir Ian and myself. We’re… we [Stewart and McKellen] got plans.”.

It’s expected that both Stewart and McKellen will have at least some sort of presence in the third Deadpool movie, along with many more additional then Fox-Marvel characters.
It was only a few days ago as of writing this article that Jennifer Garner was reported by The Hollywood Reporter to be returning as Elektra for Deadpool 3.
Additions such as Garner’s Elektra swings open the doors of possibility as to who else may be returning to either a cameo or fully star in the upcoming title.

Further cast announcements and plot details are expected to be revealed within the upcoming months by the cast and crew of Marvel Studios’ Deadpool 3.
Deadpool 3 is currently set to release on May 3, 2024.
