Florence Pugh reacted in the best way possible to Josh Horowitz accidentally referring to Marvel Studios’ Thunderbolts movie as the Thunderbirds instead. This is an easy mistake when considering how similar the two team names are.
The Thunderbolts movie is one of Marvel Studios’ upcoming projects that will see stars from the MCU such as Sebastian Stan, David Harbour, Julia Louis-Dreyfus, plus more and also Florence Pugh as one of the leading cast members.
While talking to Horowitz about Marvel for a brief few moments in his Happy Sad Confused interview series, Pugh was asked: “here’s one more topic that I know you can speak a lot about (…) is Marvel, [BOTH LAUGH] are you excited to push around David Harbour, potentially leading the Thunderbirds…”
To which Pugh responded with “Did you say Thunderbirds?”, quickly invoking the response “No, Thunderbolts, Thuderbolts, sorry, Thunderbolts.“ from Horowitz who quickly recognised his mistake. Pugh continues to say “Yeah, Thunderbolts, not Thunderbirds“, to which Horowitz hilariously responds with “I just lost my geek-cred [PUGH LAUGHS]“.
Pugh quickly moves on from the simple and honest mistake, telling Horowitz not to worry about getting mixed up with the titles.
Florence Pugh Talks All Things ‘Thunderbolts’
Pugh and Horowitz continued to talk about the upcoming MCU movie, with Pugh going back to Horowitz’s original question:
“do you know anything [ABOUT THUNDERBOLTS], have they even shown you anything, what are you excited about?”.
To which Pugh responded with
“Am I excited? Hugely excited. It’s been obviously a few years and I feel like I’m really grateful there’s been some time between them all, because, it gives me more time to figure out where she [YELENA] is and where she’s going (…) I’m just so grateful to be a part of that family and I said that when Black Widow came out.”
Pugh went on to add that she thinks it is a “huge privilege” being a part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, the Thunderbolts team, and the positively “insane” reaction to her MCU character Yelena Belova, who has been rumoured to be one of the main leaders of the Thunderbolts lineup, along with rumoured reports that Sebastian Stan’s Bucky Barnes will also be a leader of the rag-tag group of questionable Marvel heroes.
