Florence Pugh (Midsommar, Black Widow) has expressed an interest in the prospect of being attached to a Paddington sequel while briefly talking about the potential Paddington 3 with Ali Plumb on his popular interview format series on BBC Radio 1‘s YouTube channel.
When suggested by Plumb that Pugh’s next project should be Paddington 3, mostly due to the fact that she has had run-ins with the official Paddington Twitter account, Pugh responded with “I would love to be in Paddington!”, giving no hesitation to her answer with an expressive look of joy on her face.
Paddington and Paddington 2, starring Ben Whishaw as the voice of the titular character, were both given massive praise from critics and audiences worldwide, with both titles scoring almost 100% on Rotten Tomatoes each, and even hitting 100% in the past.
The third instalment has been confirmed to be in the works with production reportedly set to begin this summer, and with the franchise being a story entirely set in England, besides the background stories set in Peru, it may be possible that Pugh could land herself a part in the sequel. However, plot and casting details for the next chapter in the series are currently being kept tightly under wraps, with news not expected to be announced until production begins.
Paddington 3 does not yet have a release date.
