Matthew Perry, known for his longtime role as Chandler Bing on Friends, has passed away at age 54 as TMZ reported the news today.
Reportedly, law enforcement sources told TMZ that the actor was discovered on Saturday at a home in Los Angeles, with details that the actor ‘appears to have drowned’.
Details state that first responders rushed to the home after receiving a call for cardiac arrest, it’s currently unclear where ‘exactly on the grounds this happened’.
TMZ states that their sources say Perry was found in a jacuzzi at the aforementioned L.A. home, with confirmation that no drugs were found at the scene – or any foul play involved.
As mentioned, Perry is well known for his role as Chandler Bing on the long-running sitcom Friends, where he starred as one of the main cast members throughout the series.
The show lasted for 10 seasons which Perry starred alongside fellow main cast members Jennifer Aniston (Rachel Green), Lisa Kudrow (Phoebe Buffay), David Schwimmer (Ross Geller), Matt LeBlanc (Joey Tribbiani), and Courtney Cox (Monica Geller).
Additionally, the actor also had roles in shows such as Boys Will Be Boys, Silver Spoons, Sydney, Beverly Hills, 90210, The West Wing, Scrubs, and Go On, among other TV shows.
He also had roles in movies such as Three to Tango, The Kid, The Whole Nine Yards, Getting In, and as the older version of Zac Efron’s character in 17 Again.
Matthew Perry was 54 years old at the time of his passing, rest in peace.
