The classic British television sitcom Peep Show, famously starring David Mitchell and Robert Webb as Mark Corrigan and Jeremy Usborne, may just be set for a future reunion, maybe.
While talking to NME recently, creators Jesse Armstrong and Sam Bain talked about the possibility of the show being revived alongside its two main and aforementioned stars Mitchell and Webb, the duo who have worked together on various comedic projects.
The four all shared their brief thoughts on the idea, however, not all seemed to share the same enthusiasm behind the idea, with its two main stars not even being on the same page… something that already parallels their iconic duo from the series.
Peep Show Reunion Discussions
When asked about the idea, Mitchell told NME “It’s nice that people still give a sh**,” but that to return for a reunion, the idea behind it would have to be something special, not just a quick cash grab.
He added: “I don’t want to tack anything onto the end of it, it would have to be a totally separate thing. I wouldn’t want it to drag the original [series] down.”
Although Mitchell’s take on the reunion idea may be on the less hopeful side of things, creator Armstrong revealed that he’d “be interested to know what Mark and Jeremy were up to now,” which somewhat confirms that he’d be more than up for bringing the series back for another run.
Mitchell’s co-star Webb had this to say: “We’ve always said that it would be funny to go back and see them as old men, living in the same flat and having the same arguments.”
He added: “I think probably this side of, shall we say, 70?”
Fellow creator Bain concluded the conversation by simply stating “never say never” to the idea of Peep Show returning for a reunion revival, be it an episode, movie, or full-on series… who knows!
