While talking to ComicBook about her Netflix movie Heart of Stone, the Wonder Woman star confirmed the sequel news prior to the ongoing SAG-AFTRA and WGA strikes commencing.
Due to the ongoing strikes, development on big Hollywood studio titles such as Warner Bros. Pictures’ Wonder Woman 3 will be on pause and will not resume until the strikes come to a fair resolution.
See below for what Gadot had to say about the future DC sequel.
Wonder Woman 3 DCU Development Plans
When asked if she would like to continue playing Diana of Themyscira aka Wonder Woman in the newly planned DCU Universe, Gadot said that she “loves portraying Wonder Woman”.
Gadot even confirmed with ComicBook that she has heard directly from James Gunn and Peter Safran, who are both running the DC side of things now at Warner Bros. Pictures, that a third Wonder Woman movie is planned.
“[Wonder Woman] is so close and dear to my heart and from what I heard from James [Gunn] and from Peter [Safran] is that we’re going to develop a Wonder Woman 3 together.”
So it looks like Gadot is planning to return as Wonder Woman for the DC Universe, however, details as to how have not yet been fully revealed.
Wonder Woman 3 has not yet got a release date.
