No spoilers from Good Omens season 2 are shared in this review, you’re safe here!
David Tennant and Michael Sheen are back as Crowley and Aziraphale for a second Good Omens outing with Prime Video and creator Neil Gaiman (The Sandman) in an all-new adventure filled with mystery and biblical nonsense.
I got to dive into all six episodes of the second Good Omens season, thanks to the generous folks over at Prime Video. Tennant and Sheen prove yet again to be extremely well paired together, especially when filling the shoes of their Good Omens characters.
It’s not every day you get to watch an angel and a demon share a special bond throughout the history of the universe, hence why the original novels by creators Gaiman and the late Terry Pratchett captivated the minds of their readers.

Gaiman’s series adaptation’s first season is by far one of the best streaming titles to have ever come out of Amazon’s streamer. The second instalment of the series comes close but doesn’t quite trump its predecessor, most likely due to this new story being a completely original and new chapter that goes beyond the original novel.
Despite the second season not being better than the first, its mysterious plotlines, hilarious take on the biblical creation of the universe, and brilliant performances from its talented cast succeed in keeping you fully invested in everything that’s going on.
The biblical characters portrayed by the star-studded cast bring a new storyline that genuinely baffles you in the best way possible. Jon Hamm’s Gabriel is the star of the show this time around as he enters the show starkers walking up to the front door of Aziraphale’s bookshop, with no memory as to how he got there or who he is.

What makes this odd event even more interesting is that you are left with literally no clue, which places you perfectly into the perspective of the show’s protagonists. Each episode onwards is more or less the main protagonists trying to figure out what is going on, above, while also being harrassed by the ones, below.
Tennant and Sheen’s chemistry on screen together is simply a blessing, this season’s entire cast brings a fun, wacky and original take on the chaos that is biblical lore.
4 out of 5 stars.
Good Omens season 2 comes to Prime Video on July 28, 2023.
