The finale of Loki season 1 saw Gugu Mbatha-Raw‘s Renslayer betraying the TVA and selfishly leaving Agent Mobius to deal with the mess. Her search for “free will” is one of the many things season 2 of the series will address. Recently, the first official look at Loki Season 2 was released as part of a promotional spot, but it didn’t feature Renslayer. Now, new details for a scene in Loki Season 2, involving animals have been revealed.
In an interview with AV Club, The Cloverfield Paradox actor Gugu Mbatha-Raw talked about Season 2 of Surface on Apple TV+, as well as Loki Season 2, streaming in summer of 2023 on Disney+.
Mbatha-Raw was asked to give us more information about Loki Season 2, She confirmed, yet again, that Renslayer will be seen “outside of the TVA”, and that she “gets to leave the office”. Speaking with Entertainment Tonight, she said that Renslayer would be a “powerful presence” in season 2 and that she was excited about Ravonna making it out of the TVA.
It’s very tricky to give too much away, because I don’t wanna spoil it for anyone; but we do get to see Renslayer outside of the TVA. She gets to leave the office, which I’m very excited about, so that’s about all I can say.

Next up, she was asked who Renslayer would be friends with in the MCU. We did get a hint of Mobius and Ravonna’s past in season 1 of Loki, but it became clear that the only person Ravonna trusted, was herself. We finally got a new mention of Kang by the series’ cast, and fun fact: Ravonna Renslayer was Kang’s love interest in the comics.
I don’t know, she’s kind of a bit of a lone wolf, I don’t know that she’s, like really close friends with anyone. So, I would say, either Kang, or a solo endeavour.

After that, she was asked what her favorite memory from the set of Loki was. She went on to confirm that multiple scenes, with multiple animals, were shot.
Recently, we had some animals on the set of season 2, [laughs] that was not too much of a giveaway, but I had some good scenes with some animals, they were probably my favourite scene partners!”
