Hugh Jackman has more or less teased that filming for Marvel Studios’ Deadpool 3, starring Ryan Reynolds as the titular merc with a mouth and Jackman as the returning Wolverine, has or will at least be beginning sometime soon.
Production on the third Deadpool flick came to a close during the SAG-AFTRA actors’ strike, however, since finding a resolution with the AMPTP – the strike has now come to a close and productions such as these can resume once again.
Hugh Jackman’s Deadpool 3 Tease
Jackman took to social media to post a selfie of himself in London with his classic Wolverine facial hair, captioning his post with “Sporting the chops can only mean one thing,” the “chops” being a reference to his Wolverine beard and the “thing” being production on Deadpool 3.
Scenes for the upcoming movie have been and will be filmed in various parts of England, hence the reasoning as to why the Logan actor is there.
See below for Jackman’s aforementioned post.
Jackman posted the day before with director Shawn Levy, captioned with “In a very important production meeting,” another subtle tease to the celebration of Deadpool 3 resuming production.
Also starring in the threequel is Morena Baccarin who returns as Wade Wilson aka Deadpool’s love interest Vanessa, Brianna Hildebrand who returns as Negasonic Teenage Warhead, Shioli Kutsuna who returns as Yukio, Rob Delaney who returns as Peter, Karan Soni who returns as Dopinder, Stefan Kapicic who returns as the voice of Colossus, and Leslie Uggams returning as Blind Al.
New cast inclusions include Emma Corrin and Jennifer Garner – Garner will be reprising her live-action Marvel role as Elektra, a character she played in her own solo movie as well alongside Ben Affleck’s Daredevil in his solo movie.
Various casting rumours have been flying around the web since the movie was initially announced, such as Owen Wilson’s Mobius from the hit MCU series Loki.
However, only the above-mentioned cast has been confirmed so far.
Deadpool 3 hits theatres on July 26, 2024.
