Daniel Stevens, who will be Hugh Jackman‘s stunt double for his Wolverine role, has issued a funny warning to Ryan Reynolds on Instagram stating that he is “preparing” to give Deadpool a “beating” in Marvel Studios’ Deadpool 3 movie.
Hugh Jackman will officially be returning to the big screen as Marvel’s Wolverine for the 10th time for the third instalment of Deadpool, starring Ryan Reynolds as the titular character.
Stevens wrote to Ryan Reynolds via an Instagram post “Thanks for everything you’ve done for my career @vancityreynolds but now I’m preparing for your beating.”, using hashtags such as ‘TeamWolverine’ and ‘Wolverine10’.
Attached to the social post is a new picture of Stevens himself, working out at the gym in preparation for his role to double as the MCU’s official Wolverine, played by Hugh Jackman.
Technically the picture is a video post, however, the video is just the image accompanied by the original theme of the X-Men: The Animated Series.
It seems that Stevens is bulking up to the max, as Jackman has said on various occasions that he plans to be bigger than he has ever been in any of his previous Wolverine roles from movies such as X-Men and Logan, which Jackman is also currently training extremely hard for as of writing this article.
Production on Deadpool 3 is set to begin sometime this spring or summer (2023) with the cast all having plenty of time to prepare for what could be the most anticipated MCU movie of 2024.
Stevens also served as a stunt double for Ryan Reynolds in movies such as Free Guy, but it looks like the tides have comedically turned, with Stevens now preparing to beat Reynolds’ Deadpool in the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s take on the character.
Deadpool 3 is currently set to release in theatres on November 8, 2024.
