Thread: An Insidious Tale Plot Details
Thread: An Insidious Tale will not be a direct continuation of the main movie series in terms of past characters. This time around the new Insidious tale will be centred around a married couple played by Nanjiani and Moore who get into all sorts of mystical madness.
Details state that the new spinoff will show Nanjiani and Moore’s characters seeking out the help of a “spell” to allow them to travel back in time which has been done in past instalments. Similar to past time travel-led storylines in the Insidious franchise, the two main characters will be travelling back in time to save someone they love.

The loved one in need of saving will be their daughter who has not yet been cast. It’s mentioned that the two main characters will be preventing the death of their daughter which ends up causing severe consequences, as usual.
Time Travel Plot Details Explained
Time travel has been done before in the Insidious franchise but if this time sounds different, don’t panic – we’ve got you covered.
Confirmation that time travel and spells will be used in the upcoming Inisidious spinoff movie Thread: An Insidious Tale will come as no surprise to die-hard fans of the franchise. Many times have characters travelled through time in various Insidious instalments from Patrick Wilson’s Josh Lambert to Lin Shaye’s Elise Rainier.
One of the most prominent key facts to this franchise is that certain characters have the ability to travel to another dimension known as The Further. The same dimension that Ty Simpkins’ Dalton Lambert finds himself trapped in during the first instalment.
It is made clear on multiple occasions that time does not work quite the same in The Further which has allowed characters to manipulate it and travel to past points in their life. There have even been instances where characters have gone back in time to save other characters in an almost identical way to the details of this new spinoff’s main plot.
However, one thing that has always been clear is that the characters never had full control of the time manipulation while visiting The Further. It always just seemed to happen. This will be explored further in Thread: An Insidious Tale as Nanjiani and Moore’s characters will somehow learn how to control the time travelling aspect that most likely stems from The Further dimension.
A release date for Thread: An Insidious Tale has not yet been announced.
