Omni-Man and Homelander fans have longed for a fight between the two “superheroes” for years now, with many in debate as to which character would win, mostly due to how overpowered they both are.
Well, not all hope is lost to seeing the two “heroes” go toe to toe with one another as Robert Kirkman hinted at this year’s New York Comic Con that a crossover may not be fully out of the question.
Despite the fact that the two franchises are canonically in separate universes, Kirkman’s response to the thought of the two crossing over was plain and simple: “We could”.
Kirkman is famously known for delivering short, comical, and often cryptic hints for anything related to franchises he has his hands on. Such as The Walking Dead, a comic series turned live-action TV saga co-created by Kirkman, among others.
As of now, there’s been no official word that Invincible and The Boys is getting a crossover special – in its comic, series, or spinoff adaptations.
It’s safe to assume that a crossover has not been planned by any of the two teams, however, when it comes to the superhero genre, anything’s possible at the end of the day.
One way a “crossover” could happen is just through subtle easter eggs and references, another would be a literal crossover in either the animated Invincible series or the live-action The Boys series over on Prime Video.
Sadly, Kirkman remained tight-lipped on this topic, so fans will just have to continue the debate on whether or not the two franchises should crossover.
