Spoilers Below!
Blumhouse’s live-action Five Nights at Freddy’s adaptation has finally been released in theatres, in the United Kingdom at least, which means all of its long-anticipated secrets have been revealed for all to see or read about.
Its official US release is tomorrow Friday, October 27 and will also be available to stream on Peacock the same day.
One question on a lot of FNAF fan minds is which famous YouTubers had cameos or some sort of involvement in the movie, as it was expected that some classic YouTube FNAF creators were being kept secret until release.
One being the famous YouTuber known as MatPat, a creator famous for breaking down theories on channels such as The Game Theorists – with Five Nights at Freddy’s being a consistent content topic.
But is he in the movie itself? See below for the answer.
Is MatPat In Five Nights At Freddy’s?
Yes, the YouTuber and theorist known as MatPat is indeed in Blumhouse’s live-action Five Nights at Freddy’s and he has a fair amount of screen time as well as dialogue during his few moments in the movie.
MatPat cameos in the movie during a diner scene where he plays a waiter who serves some of the characters who are sitting down at a table inside the establishment, his role is simply a quick and fun cameo as a nod to the FNAF fandom who have grown to love the creator’s takes on the original game series.
During the scene, the characters sitting at the table tell MatPat that they don’t want any food. MatPat’s character then responds by saying “Oh, that’s not fun,” moments before the big reveal that he is, in fact, the waiter.
MatPat’s character then says his famous word… “theory,” as he tells the characters “You do realise that lunch is the most important meal of the day,” before adding that “some people say that, but you know… it’s just a theory.”
The scene is short, but will definitely not go unnoticed by his and original FNAF fans.
Five Nights at Freddy’s is now playing in UK cinemas and is set to release in the US on October 27 in both theatres and on Peacock for streaming.
