The Walking Dead is officially over, the main season anyway, with the final episode now being aired.
The final episode was full of tense and surprising moments throughout, with one incredibly exciting moment at the end of the episode. However, there was one question that every fan had in mind, both old and new.
Does Rick Grimes Return?
SPOILER WARNING!
The ending of the final episode shows a compilation of old footage that highlights every character from the show’s history. While this compilation is playing though, Rick Grimes and Michonne’s return is revealed with new dialogue from both characters.
Once the compilation scene is finished, however, a completely brand new scene is revealed including Rick Grimes and Michonne. This new scene completely sets up the future spin-off, plus some insight into what Rick has been up to.
What Happens In The Rick Grimes Scene?
Rick Grimes is seen, barefoot, in the forest next to a lake of some kind writing a letter to Michonne.
Michonne is also in this scene but not with Rick Grimes, however, it appears they are in communication with each other. Nevertheless, Michonne is seen riding a horse with an amazing new outfit riding to find Rick.
The scene ends with a CRM helicopter finding Rick and forcing him to surrender and return with them. Rick is wearing a CRM jacket in this scene, which many fans theorized he would be wearing.
