Pierson Fodé (The Man from Toronto, It’s Time) is reportedly in the running to star as the next live-action Superman for James Gunn’s The Brave and the Bold over at Warner Bros. Pictures’ DC Studios. Fodé definitely has a look that matches the comic-accurate version of Clark Kent aka Kal-El aka Superman. Gunn being the comic enthusiast he is, it’s safe to assume that a comic-accurate-looking actor is being sought out.

Variety broke the news that “Fodé sent in a self-tape” in an attempt to land the DC role at Warner Bros. The self-tape itself is said to have included a “montage of footage showing his very Clark Kent-like childhood on a farm in the small town of Moses Lake, Wash.” This would be a great tactic to really demonstrate whether or not you’re a good fit for both Superman and Clark Kent.
Along with the self-tape information included an additional note from Variety that “[James] Gunn liked what he saw.” This news has yet to be debunked or confirmed. It sounds like Fodé might very well be in the runnings to star in James Gunn’s Superman: The Brave and the Bold and if not then it has at least started a discussion online.
