Jason Momoa shared quite an exciting announcement that he had just met with James Gunn and Peter Safran to discuss his future with the DC universe, over at Warner Bros. Pictures. In the video announcement, Momoa screamed with joy and excitement at what he had just discussed, but with no surprise provided no real details to his fans. His reaction has been theories across the internet to be an unofficial confirmation that he will be playing DC’s Lobo instead of Aquaman, due to the recent changes to the DC plan.
However, in a recent interview with Variety, Jason Momoa revealed that he will not only be playing a brand new character one day in the DC universe but that he will still be Aquaman too. He confirms by saying that he will “always be Aquaman” whilst quickly saying something about how the rumours online are false. He then goes on to confirm that nobody, as in no other actor, will “be coming in” to play Aquaman or replace Momoa.

Will Jason Momoa Be Playing Multiple DC Characters?
During the same interview with Variety, Jason Momoa also hinted that there “might be some other characters” that he will be playing in the future of the franchise. Going on to express that he “can play other things too”, massively teasing that he knows something that we don’t. However, he laughs and shrugs it off and of course, provides no real information as to who he could be playing as opposed to Aquaman. His reaction mixed with the many years of fans casting him as DC’s Lobo just screams confirmation, but that is just pure speculation at the moment. We won’t know anything official until something concrete comes from the team.
What does this mean for Henry Cavill and Dwayne Johnson? If Jason Moma is staying on as Aquaman, then why aren’t they staying on to play Superman and Black Adam? This is surely a question that will soon be answered, if not, then a question that will most definitely be asked a lot by the fans. There sure are a lot of changes happening over at the DC movie side of things, however, all we can do is hope that the changes will be a positive thing. We’re just going to have to buckle in and enjoy the ride.
