The Supernatural and The Boys star was asked during his panel at the Jus In Bello convention aka JIB13 about the rumour, to which he responded with quite a lengthy and in-depth answer, confirming that he would be happy to take on the role.
Jensen Ackles Responds To Batman Rumours
When asked by an audience member “What can you tell us about this rumour spreading online that you’re on a top 3 list to play Batman?” Ackles responded:
“I don’t know. I mean could I do it? Sure. Would I wanna do it? Yes. (…) Right now nobody’s talking about anything. I think it’s – everybody knows that there is a [WGA] strike going on in the entertainment industry and until that gets solved, nobody is having conversations about anything.
People are having conversations in-house but those are not – those aren’t necassarily conversations that are being talked about outside – so would I entertain the idea of playing my favourite superhero of all time – nah I’m good, seems like a lot of work.
You gotta put on a whole batsuit and be a superhero [audience member shouts ‘oh, you’d like it’] … I’d love it. Sign me up.”
