Johnny Depp has made the largest deal ever made in the Men’s fragrance field, as he signed with Dior Sauvage once again for a whopping $20 million, if not more, with the deal being limited to a three-year contract.
Depp initially signed with Dior back in 2015, with the relationship between the Pirates of the Caribbean actor and the French luxury fashion house staying strong since.
Dior recently stood by Depp during his controversial trial with now ex-wife Amber Heard (Aquaman), a fact that was often discussed by spectators on social media during the time.
Variety was first to break the news, with a comparison of Depp’s new $20 million deal against Robert Pattinson’s $12 million fragrance deal as a spokesperson for Dior Homme, and Brad Pitt’s $7 million deal to promote Chanel No. 5.
A-listers were detailed to typically only pull in around $2 million to $4 million per year for deals such as the ones listed in this article, such as Chris Pine who got around $4 million a year for a 3-year deal with Armani.
This marks the first major news between Depp and Dior Sauvage since the famously streamed court trial between himself and Heard, however, it’s not the only news as Depp recently announced the cast for his upcoming directorial Modi that is also set to headline this year’s Cannes Film Festival.
It’s evident that Depp’s career, both in the music and film industry, is getting back on track, with speculation and theories becoming more popular than ever as to where fans of the actor may see him next appear, such as the popular theory that he will be teaming up with Burton once again for a possible role in Wednesday Season 2 or Beetlejuice 2.
However, Burton has made no such announcement, with these being mere fan cast speculation, Depp made it pretty clear during his trial that he wasn’t too keen on the thought of working with huge box office movie studios anymore, so it may be safe to assume that independent passion projects will be Depp’s path going forward.
