Johnny Depp and Tim Burton might be teaming up once again as new reports claim Depp has landed a role in Beetlejuice 2 alongside titular star Michael Keaton, Edward Scissorhands co-star Winona Ryder, and Wednesday star Jenna Ortega.
Although this casting has not yet been announced by the cast and crew of the sequel, Giant Freakin Robot says they’ve received news of Depp’s involvement.
Since the post-events of Depp’s controversial court case with ex-wife and Aquaman star Amber Heard, many have expected news of Depp joining a Burton-led project.

The two have a long list of projects together and are famously known for pairing up to create wacky and fun projects such as Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.
Both have worked on various projects without one another, but it’s always been clear that the two enjoy coming up with fun characters together.
Who’s Johnny Depp Playing In Beetlejuice 2?
In the new casting report, it states that Depp will have a cameo in Burton’s Beetlejuice 2 movie, potentially meaning his involvement will be short.
The two haven’t worked on a project together since 2016’s Alive Through the Looking Glass, which Burton produced and Depp starred as the Hatter.
In fact, Burton hasn’t worked on many projects at all since the 2016 flick, with 2019’s Dumbo being his only production post-Alice and pre-Wednesday.

Interestingly, fans of Burton have also shown high speculation online with theories that Depp may be joining the second season of Wednesday on Netflix.
Since the extreme success of Wednesday, a second season has been announced and production on Beetlejuice 2 has started, leaving it safe to assume that Burton has that spark for creating again and will reportedly be bringing his old pal and Pirates of the Caribbean star with him.
Tim Burton’s Beetlejuice 2 is scheduled to be released on September 6, 2024.
