Poison Ivy has made numerous appearances in animated and live-action adaptations. The character was portrayed by Clare Foley (initially), Maggie Geha (in seasons 3–4), and Peyton List in the TV series Gotham.
In the DC Animated Universe, Poison Ivy was voiced by Diane Pershing, who voiced the character in over 5 series set in the DCAU. Most recently, the character appeared as a main character in Harley Quinn, voiced by Lake Bell.
In the latest issue of Total Film, Karen Gillan discussed parting with the Guardians of the Galaxy and addressed James Gunn’s departure from Marvel Studios and the start of a new era at DC Studios, with Gunn at its helm.
The Jumanji actress said she “always thought that Poison Ivy was really fun”, and that playing the character in the new DCU would “be cool.”
I always thought that Poison Ivy was really fun. So maybe something like that would be cool. Honestly, if James asked me to play an alien that sits in the background of a shot and doesn’t talk, I would say yes [laughs]. Because working with him has been one of the great joys of my career so far.

Will Poulter told Total Film that he would “love” to work for Gunn in “any capacity.” Pom Klementieff said she sent Gunn a pitch, and that she would like to work with him “on anything.”
Director James Gunn addressed his “side-switch” as well, saying that both Kevin Feige (President of Marvel Studios) and he want the “theatrical moviegoing experience to survive”.
[Kevin Feige, Marvel Studios president] and I both feel the same way: we want the theatrical moviegoing experience to survive. Marvel and DC, far from being two companies that, you know, one succeeds more if the other one loses that’s not the truth. There are not enough movies coming out that they couldn’t all theoretically do well. That is what I would like to see, and I know that that is what Kevin would like to see. And that isn’t just bullshit on his part, because it’s something that he’s expressed to me for the past 11 years that we’ve been working together.
