New Line’s live-action Mortal Kombat 2 movie may be a while away in terms of release, but thanks to the latest live-action Armoured Core VI Fires of Rubicon trailer, fans of NetherRealm Studios’ iconic video game series can get their best look yet at Karl Urban’s “Johnny Cage” look.
Urban was rumoured for some time to be starring as the live-action Johnny Cage in Mortal Kombat 2, it was then later confirmed when an official image of the cast was shared online by producer Todd Garner.
Karl Urban’s Best “Johnny Cage” Look Reveal Yet
The trailer featuring Urban’s recent live-action appearance is entitled ARMORED CORE VI FIRES OF RUBICON Live-Action Trailer feat. Karl Urban — “Let’s Get to Work”, uploaded by Bandai Namco’s American YouTube channel.
Needless to say, this trailer and live-action film appearance by Urban has no relation to Mortal Kombat 2 but does offer his new look that was tailored for him to play Johnny Cage. However, production on the sequel is currently on halt as of writing and won’t resume until the ongoing WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes come to a reasonable resolution.

In the trailer, which you can find below, Urban sports a beardless look with a slick-back hairstyle which is close to how he’ll look in New Line’s live-action Mortal Kombat 2.
As mentioned, it is no longer a rumour as to whether Urban will star in the live-action Johnny Cage as it has been both teased and confirmed by Todd Garner.
