In a recent Express interview, actor Lars Mikkelsen responded to the rumours that he would be starring in the ‘Ahsoka‘ series as his Rebels character Grand Admiral Thrawn. Star Wars rumours are a common thing to find when surfing the internet, however, Mikkelsen doesn’t seem to put off this idea. He confirmed with Express that he is “aware” of the rumour floating around, but sadly hasn’t had an “offer” from anyone about the role.
Lars Mikkelsen played the Star Wars: Rebels villain in the third and fourth seasons of the series, while also playing the main antagonist throughout his arc. Thrawn plays a large part in the animated Rebels series, working very closely with Anakin Skywalker’s Darth Vader. If Mikkelsen is telling the truth, and Thrawn really isn’t a part of the first Ahsoka series, that doesn’t mean that we won’t see him in live-action form eventually.

Lars Mikkelsen Would Play Live-Action Thrawn
When asked about a potential return to the Star Wars universe as a live-action Grand Admiral Thrawn, Lars Mikkelsen told Express “Well, I haven’t had the offer. But, yes, sure”. Confirming that if asked, he would be happy to take on the role again and bring his take on the character in a live-action form for the Disney Plus era of Star Wars. This notion has been seemingly accepted by the majority of the Rebels fanbase online, with the rumour garnering mostly positive reactions when seen by the typical Star Wars fan.
This wouldn’t be the first rumour to come from the upcoming Ahsoka series, with recent reports of David Tennant also reprising an animated Star Wars role for the live-action series. Tennant played a character called Huyang in the animated series The Clone Wars and has been widely rumoured as of late to be returning to the role. If these rumours have any weight of truth to them, then it could be possible that this may be the current trend for the live-action Mando-verse shows on Disney Plus. A fun fact for those of you who may be wondering, Lars Mikkelsen is the brother of fellow Star Wars actor Mads Mikkelsen, which is a fun little fact about the Star Wars universe.
