Lauren Glazier who is known for starring in projects such as Mindhunter, See, and Tales of the Walking Dead, has reportedly signed on to play a role in the Marvel Studios Disney Plus series Wonder Man. However, the reported details share no information as to who Glazier could be playing as development is being kept tightly under wraps.
This new report comes from the Patreon page of the well-known industry scooper Daniel Richtman, which states that “Lauren Glazier (Mindhunter) has been cast in Wonder Man. No details about her role.”, with no additional information provided in the post. Marvel’s Simon Williams, also known as Wonder Man, will officially be played by Yahya Abdul-Mateen II with Ben Kingsley also reprising the role of MCU’s Trevor Slattery.
Details on the new series are scarce due to how early in development the project is, however, it has been speculated that Marvel Studios/ Disney will be providing more information during this year’s D23 event in September. It should also be noted that this new report comes with no official comment or confirmation from the cast and crew of Marvel Studios’ Wonder Man, and should only be taken as a rumour in the meantime. Disney, Marvel Studios, or a member of the cast and crew of Wonder Man will provide further details about the show once it gets further through each stage of development.
Who Is Wonder Man?
Simon Williams, aka Wonder Man, is simply an actor from Hollywood at the beginning of his story arc from the Marvel Comics run. However, Williams is quickly thrown into the world of superheroes once he obtains his abilities, with the name Wonder Man coming after this happens.
Wonder Man is noted by fans as being one of the strongest Avengers from the comics adaptation of the character, potentially meaning that Abdul-Mateen II will also be joining the Avengers lineup for Avengers: The Kang Dynasty or Avengers: Secret Wars to face Kang, Kang, and all the other Kangs.
Wonder Man is currently expected to release in late 2023 or sometime in 2024, no release date has been announced as of writing this article.
