Liv Tyler has been confirmed to be returning to the Marvel Cinematic Universe as Betty Ross for the 2024 MCU movie entitled Captain America: New World Order.
Tyler will be reprising her role for the second time in the MCU, after her debut as Betty Ross in Marvel Studios’ The Incredible Hulk, in which she starred alongside Edward Norton who played Bruce Banner prior to Mark Ruffalo taking on the role.
Reports of Tyler’s casting broke onto the internet just earlier today, with The Hollywood Reporter now confirming the news that Tyler will indeed be starring in the fourth Captain America instalment alongside fellow cast members such as Anthony Mackie and on-screen father Harrison Ford.
Ford will be playing Tyler’s father, General Thaddeus “Thunderbolt” Ross, who was recently played by William Hurt before his sad passing last year in 2022, Hurt originally starred as Tyler’s father in The Incredible Hulk and went on to star in MCU projects such as Iron Man and Captain America: Civil War.
Captain America: New World Order will see Tyler share the screen with Thunderbolt Ross once again, however, Tyler will not quite yet be reuniting with Bruce Banner, aka the Hulk, unless a secret cameo from Ruffalo is in the wings – as of now, Ruffalo has not been announced to star.
No details of Tyler’s involvement have been shared, besides her official casting, however, Tyler is reportedly in Atlanta, Georgia, filming scenes already, as of writing this article.
