Marvel Studios officially wrapped up its 2022 round of movies and tv shows with the release of the Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special on Disney Plus, but what’s next, what’s coming in 2023?
It wasn’t too long ago when the MCU would only give us maybe two or three movies a year, which has drastically increased to an average of six to eight movies plus tv series every 12 months.
That being said, Marvel Studios don’t show any plans on slowing down their cinematic universe releases, as they confirm 8 titles for next year’s slate; 2023.
Marvel Studios Confirm 2023 Film & TV Slate
In a recent tweet from the Marvel UK & Ireland account, a promo which shares no new footage highlights what’s to come in 2023, adding Echo to the list of releases.
We have listed the full slate that was confirmed below, in the order listed during their promo, not in the order of release date.
- Secret Invasion
- Agatha: Coven of Chaos
- Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania
- Loki Season Two
- Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3
- Echo
- The Marvels
- Ironheart
Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania was already confirmed to be the first project for Phase 5 of the MCU, so don’t expect any projects to be released prior.
However, the third instalment of the Ant-Man franchise is currently set for a mid-February release, so it’s safe to say that we can expect to see more than one project in the first quarter of 2023.
MCU 2023 Release Dates
So, in the order that the Marvel UK & Ireland Twitter account displayed their 2023 slate, let’s dive into the current set release dates for each title.
Keep in mind that some titles have yet to receive an official release date, so speculation and rough estimates from the studio are all we have for some projects.
Secret Invasion is currently set for an early 2023 release, with speculation that it might be the second title to debut during phase 5 of the MCU.
Agatha: Coven of Chaos is still currently filming the episodes for the series, besides a brief pause of filming until January, no release date as of yet has been confirmed.
Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania is set to release in theatres on the 17th of February, 2023, with the film officially being the first title in the fifth phase of the MCU.
Loki Season Two is another title that has received no release date, yet, but confirmation of a summer release was delivered at San Diego Comic-Con.
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 is currently set to debut on the 5th of May, 2023, exclusively in theaters.
Echo is the real surprise of the list, due to the fact that it was believed to release in 2024. However, the showrunner recently confirmed that the expected release for this title’s premiere is December 2023.
The Marvels does in fact have a release date set, which is the 28th of July 2023.
The Ironheart series hasn’t yet received an official release date, but it is expected to premiere in late 2023, making plenty of room for other titles.
The animated X-Men 97 series is also set to debut on Disney Plus in the fall of 2023, but it was not included in the latest promo from the Marvel UK & Ireland account.
What If…? Season 2 has been confirmed for a 2023 release, this title was also not included in the promo.
